DUI, Drug-Related Incidents Keep Deputies Busy

Riverbank Police Services had a variety of calls for service during the past week and reported several arrests in connection with those incidents.

On the evening of Sunday, Aug. 22, deputies contacted a subject passed out in a vehicle near Arizona and Louisiana avenues. The driver, a 36-year-old man, was determined to be intoxicated and he was arrested for DUI.

Deputies stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations on Sunday evening for vehicle code violations. A passenger, identified as Rhiannon Taylor, 18, was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant.

During the morning on Saturday, Aug. 21, deputies were dispatched to a dispute in the 5900 block of Newbrook Drive with a teenage female arrested following the investigation.

In the early morning hours on Saturday, deputies investigated a carjacking that occurred two days prior near Oakdale Road and Squire Wells Way. The investigation is ongoing and has been turned over to detectives.

On Thursday, Aug. 19 in the morning, deputies observed a subject identified as Ryan Bailey, 40, riding his motorcycle near Patterson Road and Jackson Avenue. Deputies knew Bailey was wanted in connection with the recent shooting of a Modesto Police Officer. Deputies coordinated with additional units, safely stopped, and arrested Bailey. He was then turned over to MPD investigators.

During the morning on Wednesday, Aug. 18, deputies observed a 51-year-old man trespassing on the property in the 2600 block of Morrill Road. Mullins appeared to be under the influence of drugs and he immediately attempted to hide on the property after seeing deputies. Authorities noted that deputies did a great job building a rapport with Mullins, deescalating the situation, and talking him out. Due to his high level of intoxication, he was transported to the hospital by EMS. He was cited for trespass and for being under the influence of illegal drugs.
