The race of particular interest to Riverbank voters will be that for the position of mayor that has six candidates: Mark Ensley, Paul Gutierrez, Larry King, Virginia Madueno, Richard O'Brien and Dave White. The mayor's post has been unfilled since May, both Chris Crifasi and then David I. White quitting within a few months.
Another local race, that for the Riverbank Unified School District Board, has four candidates running for three positions. They are incumbents Egidio "Jeep" Oliveira and Ron Peterson and challengers Elizabeth Mesa and Cohen Blount.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The polling places that are usually at schools will this time be at the Riverbank Community Center, St. Frances Catholic Church, Dry Creek Community Church and Quail Meadows Mobile Home Park.
