American Veterans First is hosting a Trunk or Treat event, open to all in the community, at 6436 Oakdale Road in Riverbank to observe the Halloween holiday. The event is scheduled on Friday, Oct. 28 at 5:30 p.m.

All are invited to attend in costume; trunk or treat typically features decorated vehicles offering candy out of the trunk, with youngsters able to make the rounds of the participating vehicles to gather some candy and other treats.

Organizers of the Friday night festivities said they are also planning to have some food, games, and prizes for participants, as well as an award for the best decorated car.

The ‘Trunk or Treat’ events have gained popularity in recent years, as a safe way for kids to enjoy trick or treating in one location.
