With the arrival of spring-like temperatures last week, local students’ thoughts surely must be turning to the end of the school year, just around the corner.

With that year-end thinking, the school district has already scheduled a Night of Fine Arts to celebrate a concert and show next month on the Riverbank High School campus.

The event is scheduled for Thursday evening, May 9. Last year it was held in the Ray Fauria Memorial Gymnasium, and featured performances by students from each of the schools in the Riverbank Unified School District.

Musicians from Cardozo Middle School, California Avenue and Mesa Verde Elementary Schools as well as Riverbank High performed at last year’s event, including one piece where all played together.

The schools’ Arts classes have also participated in the past, with displays in the gym lobby.
