Fire Calls 10-7-20

Fire, ambulance and CHP units responded to the scene of a Monday morning two-vehicle accident on Orange Blossom Road east of Oakdale. The call came in shortly before 9:30 a.m. with the roadway blocked and one person transported to the hospital. Modesto Fire Department Photo

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Sept. 29 through Monday, Oct. 5. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, OCT. 5

Division Chief Tietjen and Battalion Chief Hunter completed demobilization from the Creek Fire with XST 4201C.

Fire Captain McCullough remains assigned with OES 4814A to the Glass Fire in Sonoma County. Crews were assigned to Division P/P on Highway 12 conducting mop-up and patrol.

Companies completed weekly apparatus and equipment maintenance.

9:20 a.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27 and BC5 were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident on Orange Blossom Road. BC5 arrived with Oak Valley ambulance to find two vehicles involved with the roadway blocked. Engine 28 assisted with patient care and one subject was transported from the scene to a local emergency room. CHP investigating.

 

SUNDAY, OCT. 4

Division Chief Tietjen and Battalion Chief Hunter are assigned to the Creek Fire burning in Madera and Fresno counties with XST4201C. Crews were on a 24-hour rest period and are scheduled for demobilization today. The fire was reported to be at 322,089 acres.

Fire Captain McCullough is assigned to the Glass Fire burning in Sonoma County with OES 4814A. Crews were on a 24-hour rest period. The fire was reported to be at 64,900 acres.

Engine 27 and Engine 28 conducted rope systems training.

 

SATURDAY, OCT. 3

Strike Team XST4201C: Is assigned to Division Victor/Whiskey at the Creek Fire. Scheduled for demobilization Sunday.

Strike Team OES4814A: Is assigned to Division PP and QQ mop up and patrol along Highway 20 in Santa Rosa. They are also assigned cover for calls in the City of Santa Rosa.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 2

XST4814A Crews were off the line for 24 hours, previously assigned to divisions PP and H along Highway 29, reinforcing the line along the highway. XST 42001C, assigned to the Creek Fire is tentatively looking at demobilization on Monday.

 

THURSDAY, OCT. 1

Strike Team XST4201C: Is assigned to Division Victor/Whiskey on a 24 hour operation at the Creek Fire.

Strike Team OES4814A: Is assigned to Division PP mop up and patrol along Highway 20 in Santa Rosa.

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 30

Strike Team XST4201C: Is assigned to Division Victor/Whiskey on a 24 hour operation at the Creek Fire.

Strike Team OES4814A: Is assigned to Division PP mop up and patrol along Highway 20 in Santa Rosa.

4:10 p.m. – Modesto Engine 29, Engine 28 and Battalion 5 responded to an injury accident with a motorcyclist down in the roadway (No location provided). Engine 29 provided patient care with Oak Valley Ambulance as Engine 28 secured a landing zone at the Army Corp yard for the air ambulance.

 

TUESDAY, SEPT. 29

Chief Tietjen is assigned with XST 4201C on the Creek Fire. Crews were assigned to Division V/W on a 24 hour assignment of tactical patrol and mop-up.

Fire Captain McCullough is assigned with OES 4814A to the west branch of the Glass Fire performing structure protection and tactical patrol.

Engine 27 conducted company level training.
