The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Nov. 10 through Monday, Nov. 16. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, NOV. 16

No times listed:

Companies completed weekly apparatus and equipment maintenance.

Installation work continued on the diesel exhaust removal system at fire station 29 in Knights Ferry.

BC1 and BC5 attended the weekly command staff meeting.

 

SUNDAY, NOV. 15

1:56 a.m. – Engines 28, 29, and Battalion 5 responded to a vehicle accident on Milton, just south of Highway 4. Crews arrived to find a solo vehicle rollover with one delayed patient. The patient was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital in stable condition.

3:34 p.m. – Engine 29, Engine 28, Cal Fire Engine 4486 and BC5 responded to reported motor vehicle accident on Highway 108 near Knights Ferry. Engine 29 arrived to find two vehicles involved and began to check for injuries. Crews found two minor injuries and assisted ambulance with initial patient care. CHP investigating.

 

FRIDAY, NOV. 13

No time listed: All stations worked in “operational condition yellow” to minimize contact/exposure to COVID among each other and with the public. Crews were able to train on their own – no multi-company training is allowed during the elevated COVID operational condition.

 

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 11

No time listed: Crews rotated through the training division for firefighter safety and survival training.

 

TUESDAY, NOV. 10

No time listed: Crews began installing the diesel exhaust removal system at fire station 29 in Knights Ferry.

Engine 7, Engine 9 and Stanislaus Engine 26 conducted multi-company training

10:16 p.m. – Engine 27, Engine 7, Engine 9, Stanislaus Engine 26, Stanislaus Engine 22, Truck 5, BC5 and BC2 responded to a working residential structure fire in the 1700 block of Elderberry Court in the City of Oakdale. Engine 27 arrived to find smoke showing from the rear of a single-family residence and began to investigate. Crews found the occupant extinguishing a detached shed and began to check for fire extension. The fire damaged several windows but did not extend into the residence and is currently under investigation by the FIU.
