The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Dec. 1 through Monday, Dec. 7. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, DEC. 7

3:05 p.m. – Brush 28 was requested to assist on a vegetation fire on Edwards Road in San Joaquin County. Chief 1 and Battalion 5 attached to the incident. Crews from multiple San Joaquin area agencies battled a fast moving vegetation fire in an agricultural field with multiple structures reported to be threatened. Crews contained the fire to approximately 20 acres, no structures were damaged.

3:36 p.m. – Modesto Engine 27, Stanislaus Consolidated Engine 26, Battalion 2 and Chief 3 responded to a vehicle accident on Lon Dale Road involving a person trapped. Crews arrived to find two vehicles, with one occupant trapped inside a vehicle. Crews performed extrication and patient care. One patient was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

 

SUNDAY, DEC. 6

4 p.m. – Modesto Truck 5, Engine 27 and Battalion 5 responded to reports of an injury accident with a pin in at Albers Road and Rice Road. Crews arrived on scene with two vehicles involved and one person confirmed pin in. A total of four patients were transported with minor to moderate injuries. Oak Valley Ambulance and AMR Ambulance transported to local hospitals. CHP and Stanislaus Sheriff Deputies at the scene investigating.

 

SATURDAY, DEC. 5

07:28 a.m. – Modesto Engine 28 was dispatched for a smoke check on South Stearns near Sierra. E28 located a manure pile smoldering. Battalion 5, Water Tender 27 and Engine 27 responded to assist. Workers on the property utilized a skid steer to make access to the fire for crews to extinguish.

11:01 a.m. – Modesto Engine 28 was dispatched to a smoke check in the area of Highway 108 and Stearns Road. Oakdale PD updated the information as vehicles on fire in the rear of a property. Engine 27 and Battalion 5 responded to assist. The fire was contained to two salvage vehicles and light vegetation. Fire cause was accidental as one of the vehicles was being worked on.

9:41 p.m. – Engine 28 was dispatched for a vehicle into a house. E28 arrived on scene (no address listed) with Oakdale PD. One patient from the vehicle was transported with minor injuries. Rescue 11 and Battalion 5 responded to assist. Crews placed emergency shoring in the garage to support the structure. Oakdale PD is investigating.

10:12 p.m. – Modesto and Stanislaus Consolidated units responded to a major injury accident at Claribel and Langworth roads; two vehicles were involved with one confirmed pin in, seven patients total. One was deceased on scene; CHP investigating.

 

FRIDAY, DEC. 4

No time listed – Companies supported the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit and completed overhaul operations on the second alarm structure fire at 433 South 7th Street in South Modesto.

10:16 a.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27, Truck 5 and BC5 responded to a potential structure fire in the City of Oakdale for a report of a natural gas leak inside an apartment. Engine 28 located a Freon leak in the HVAC system and canceled the balance.

5:36 p.m. – No address listed: Engine 7, Stanislaus Engine 26 and BC5 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident. Engine 7 arrived to find multiple vehicles involved and began to investigate for injuries. Engine 7 found minor injuries and canceled the balance.

 

TUESDAY, DEC. 1

3:29 p.m. – Modesto Engines 27, 28, Battalion 5 responded to a vehicle accident in the 5500 block of River Road in Oakdale for a bicyclist who had been hit by a vehicle. Engine 28 arrived to find a solo cyclist with moderate injuries; the vehicle that struck the cyclist fled the scene leaving behind a shattered right-side rear-view mirror. Crews assisted with patient care then secured the scene until CHP arrived to investigate. The patient was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
