Fire Calls 8-26-20

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area. Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Aug. 18 through Monday, Aug. 24. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, AUG. 24

12:27 p.m. – Engine 30, Engine 28 and BC5 responded with Copperopolis Fire District to a reported motor vehicle accident on State Highway 4. Engine 30 found a single vehicle involved (non-injury) with CHP investigating.

7:33 p.m. – Water Rescue 28, Engine 27, Stanislaus Water Rescue 26 and BC5 were dispatched to a subject disorientated and stranded on the Stanislaus River. Crews initially began to search for the subject on the river below Knights Ferry in the area of Lovers Leap. The subject was then located a significant distance above Knights Ferry near Two-Mile Bar. Crews utilized the access point at Two-Mile Bar and began a ground search for the subject along the river. Crews located the subject along the river (uninjured) and walked the subject back to the Two-Mile Bar access. Several resources were utilized for the search including the UAV drone operated by BC1 and GPS locating technology provided by the Cal Fire San Andreas ECC. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and Army Corp provided support for the incident.

 

SATURDAY, AUG. 22

1:42 p.m. – Engine 28 and Battalion 5 responded to an EMS incident on Stearns Road for a person in cardiac arrest. After approximately thirty minutes of high performance CPR and ALS intervention, the patient regained pulses. The patient was transported to a nearby hospital with two fire personnel on board assisting with patient care.

 

THURSDAY, AUG. 20

8:42 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Battalion 5, Stanislaus Engine 26 and Quint 22 responded for a rescue at Highway 108 and Claus Road along the Stanislaus River. Two people were walking along the trail when a woman fell down the embankment approximately 50 feet suffering moderate injuries. Fire crews, Stanislaus Sheriff Deputies and an Oak Valley Ambulance crew extricated the patient utilizing a rope system. The rescue was completed in just over an hour.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 19

10:55 a.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Engine 27, Battalion 502, Chief 1 and Chief 3 responded to assist Oakdale Police Department at a crime scene in the 100 block of South Sixth Avenue.

1:22 p.m. – Modesto Engine 30, Battalion 502 and Stanislaus Engine 26 responded to an injury accident on Rodden Road and North Oaks Drive. Crews assisted Oak Valley Ambulance with two minor injuries. CHP investigating.

2:25 p.m. – Modesto Engine 27 provided landing zone safety at Oak Valley Hospital for a pediatric patient transfer.

8 p.m. – Modesto Brush 28, Battalion 5 and Stanislaus Brush 24 returned home from assisting Cal Fire at the Salt Fire in Calaveras County.

 

TUESDAY, AUG. 18

7:22 a.m. – Modesto Engine 27, Engine 28, Engine 9 and Battalion 5 responded to an injury accident with a pin-in at Langworth Road and Claribel Road. One patient extricated with a total of three transported. CHP investigating.

4 p.m. – Modesto Brush 28, Battalion 5 and Stanislaus Brush 24 responded to assist Cal Fire TCU with initial attack at a wildland fire in Calaveras.
