The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Sept. 15 through Monday, Sept. 21. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

 

SUNDAY, SEPT. 20

1:46 a.m. – Modesto, Stanislaus Consolidated fire crews, and the Stanislaus FIU responded to a residential structure fire in the 1700 block of Claus Road. Engine 9 arrived to find a previously burned house well involved. Crews worked in the defensive mode to contain the spread of the fire. No injuries reported, the Stanislaus FIU was on scene working to determine cause and origin.

 

SATURDAY, SEPT. 19

2:35 a.m. – Modesto Engine 29, Engine 28 and Battalion 5 responded with Cal Fire to reports of a vehicle fire at Highway 4 and Milton that was catching grass on fire. Oak Valley Ambulance, CHP and Cal Star 12 responded as it was unknown if it was the result of an accident. Engine 29, 28 and BC5 arrived on scene with a fully involved vehicle with a small area of grass on fire. Oak Valley Ambulance crew confirmed no patients at the scene. Cal Fire continued one engine to the scene. CHP is investigating.

12:58 p.m. – Modesto Engines 28, 29, and Battalion 5 responded to a vehicle accident on Sonora Road involving two motorcyclists. Engine 29 arrived on scene, found two motorcycles and riders off the roadway, one with moderate injuries. Engine 28 assisted with setting up a landing zone for PHI Med 41, air ambulance. One patient was transported to an area hospital.

 

FRIDAY, SEPT. 18

12:06 p.m. – Engine 28 responded to the 1400 block of Gold Rush Court for a child who fell from a play structure. Oakdale Public Works secured a park around the corner as Modesto Battalion 5 and Stanislaus Engine 26 assisted with a landing zone.

5:58 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28, 27, Water Tender 27, Battalion 5, and Stanislaus Quint 22 responded to a potential structure fire in the 1900 block of Sierra Road. Additional reports were that it was a vegetation fire threatening a house and trailer. BC5 requested additional resources bringing Stanislaus Grass 24, Water Tender 24, Modesto Brush 29 and Brush 1. The fire was contained to two acres with no extension to the structures. Fire cause was accidental as the property owner had been discing the field. OPD and CHP assisted with traffic control.

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 16

4:45 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Battalion 5 and Stanislaus Engine 26 responded to an injury accident at Highway 108 and Richardson Road. One driver was transported with minor injuries. CHP is investigating.

10:09 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Battalion 5 and Stanislaus Grass 24 responded to reports of a possible vegetation fire in the area of Rice Road and Oakdale Waterford Highway. Crews located a large agricultural burn and worked with the property owner to extinguish.

 

TUESDAY, SEPT. 15

No time listed – The Modesto Fire Department Technical Rescue Team met at an Oakdale Irrigation District facility off of 28 Mile Road to refresh on trench rescue skills.
