Fire Chief Swearing In Set
Stanislaus Consolidated

The regular meeting of the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District on Thursday, Feb. 14 is scheduled to include the swearing in of new Fire Chief Mike Whorton.

The session is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Station 26 Meeting Room at 3318 Topeka in Riverbank.

Following the roll call, Pledge of Allegiance and approval of the agenda, the board is scheduled to see the swearing in of Chief Whorton along with a badge-pinning ceremony, followed by a brief recess for a ‘welcome reception’ for the new chief.

Upon returning to the meeting, the board will hear public comments and also has several action items on the agenda.

Among them are reviewing and approving the Battalion Chief revised job description; review and approve the Finance and Administrative Manager job description; review and consider approval of a draft response to the Fiscal Year 16/17 annual audit management letter.

Also, the board will discuss and possibly approve the Fiscal Year 18/19 mid-year budget revisions.

Discussion and possible action regarding the current Fire Service agreements with both the Oakdale Fire Protection District and the City of Oakdale is also due, with the board to discuss options available for possible renewal of the contract.

There will also be written staff reports provided along with verbal informational reports from a number of committees.

A closed session is also scheduled for a variety of ongoing negotiation issues and a public employee performance review.
