Though it has been almost a year since the Riverbank Historical Society celebrated the Centennial of its Carnegie Library turned museum, there has been work going on to improve conditions inside. Recent upgrades included new roofing and, more recently, a new paint job. During August, the city had the floor replaced. Recent visitors might have noticed the sad shape the old carpet was in, but now they’ll see a brand-new hardwood floor. Though the display cabinets and the desk had to be moved around to be out of the way while working, soon they’ll be back in place, with historical items back on display. Currently, the Historical Museum is open for visitors on Tuesday mornings, from 10 a.m. to noon. The museum is at 3237 Santa Fe; the phone number is 209-869-7161.
