School officials in Riverbank cancelled scheduled Friday sporting events and said they will be evaluating such activities on a day by day basis.

The Bruin track and field team was to have hosted the Stanislaus County Meet at Angelo Novi Field on Friday, March 13 but the event was called off due to the coronavirus and the directive to limit gatherings of 250 people or more.

Officials said going forward, extracurricular activities such as sports will be evaluated daily and the district will utilize information and directives from the county and state Departments of Public Health when making decisions whether or not to cancel or postpone school events.
