Members of the Riverbank Cares Committee are hosting their annual turkey drive this coming Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Les Schwab Tire Center parking lot at 2560 Patterson Road, Riverbank, across form Galaxy 12 Theatres.

"We are accepting turkeys, hams, canned and other non-perishable food items and toys," explained committee member Scott Pettit. "These items will be distributed to Riverbank families in need during the upcoming holidays. Please share this with everyone on Facebook and at your work, school and church - everywhere.

"Let's all join together and help make the holidays a bit cheerier for our neighbors."

To help get into the holiday feel, Les Schwab will have hot beverages and popcorn in the lobby to enjoy while making your donation.

"We all get super busy during the holidays but our desire to give should not be an added stress, the community has pulled together and wants to make it easy to give," added City of Riverbank Administrative Analyst Norma Torres-Manriquez, also part of the Riverbank Cares Committee. "If you don't have time or forget to come see us on Saturday, Nov. 17 then our friends at Riverbank O'Brien's Market have graciously agreed to help; just drop off your donation in the blue designated barrel from Nov. 17 to Dec. 20."

The market drop off location is at 6331 Oakdale Road.

"Any of these methods will help provide for a family in need in Riverbank," said Torres-Manriquez.
