Hotel Need Survey Posted Online

Riverbank officials are renewing efforts to have a hotel or motel locate in town and are inviting local residents to express their opinions on that effort.

For those who live or work in town or within a 10-minute drive of it, Director of Economic Development Tim Ogden is asking that you consider answering a brief survey regarding the need for a hotel in Riverbank.

The six-question survey is posted online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RFV6D7K.

Collated answers will be shared with prospective hotel developers.

The survey asks the potential hotel users purpose in visiting, in what town they normally stay, the number of visitors per year that would use hotel accommodations, how many nights would visitors stay at a hotel and whether they would visit on weekends or during the week.

Although it does not yet have a hotel or motel in town, the city has twice tried to raise the transient occupancy tax (TOT) in recent elections and failed both times to get a majority vote.
