Junior Police Academy Set By Sheriff’s Department

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is hosting a Junior Police Academy from Monday, June 13 to Friday, June 17 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. They are currently accepting applications via email or in-person at the Riverbank Police Services substation, 6727 Third St., Riverbank until Friday, June 3 at 4 p.m.

There is no cost to attend and students will participate in various activities regarding law enforcement like the history, modern practices, criminal law, report writing, and crime scene investigations. Students will not handle firearms or participate in any physical training or defense tactics.

Class size is limited and is open to sixth, seventh and eighth graders.

To enroll your child, email zxiong@stansheriff.com in order to obtain the Code of Conduct, release and application that is due on Friday, June 3.
