Members of the Escalon Farmington Community Garden Club will gather in a new spot for their May meeting. Set for 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, the club members will join together for a session at the Escalon Historical Museum, the old Bengston Building, at 1630 Main St, Escalon.

All gardening enthusiasts from throughout the Central Valley are invited and encouraged to attend.

Program for the day will be “Reminisce with Curators Dorothy Miller and David Russell” at the museum and there will be a door prize awarded to someone just for attending the meeting.

Several Garden Club albums are available, going back to 1949 and possibly even earlier. There will also be snacks and raffle drawings. For more information, contact Lorraine Nicholson at 209-613-8708 or email lorainenicholson@att.net

The club recently hosted their fundraising plant sale in Escalon and officials said it was a well-attended event.

“We sold a large variety of tomatoes and bell peppers. Many types of succulents were available,” noted Judy Scheppmann, club president. “The income generated from the sale will provide a scholarship for a senior in high school planning to continue their education for college.”
