Anniversary Committee Meets To Plan Activities
RHS

The ad hoc committee, organizers of the Riverbank High School Anniversary, will be meeting again tonight – Wednesday, Aug. 23 – at Pizza Plus in downtown Riverbank.

They are working toward a 50th Anniversary celebration for the high school, which was established in 1967.

Members of the group are trying to establish several days of ‘hoopla’ next month during Homecoming Week of the football season. Organizers said they’ve already gotten permission from the city to host music in the park on Thursday, Sept. 21, in Plaza del Rio Park, with food available at Pizza Plus.

They plan on asking the Historical Society to be open that evening so alumni can look through the school exhibits in the museum.

On Friday, plans include a reception before the Homecoming football game, possibly in the Fauria Gym, then there could be a pre-game show which features the alumni, the RHS Winterguard and an “Olympic-style walk around the track, honoring five decades of excellence at Riverbank High School,” according to organizer Stacy Riggs Bauer, Class of ‘86.

Other local alumni and all interested in helping out or looking to share ideas are invited to the Wednesday evening meeting.
