For over 35 years, downtown Riverbank has been transformed into a mecca of entertainment for one weekend in October that the entire family can enjoy called the Riverbank Cheese and Wine Exposition.

This year will be no different.

This premiere festival, which now includes a variety of craft beers for guests to taste, also includes the traditional wine tasting with cheese pairings that people come back for each year along with live music, a children’s carnival, and more. There are expected to be more than 100 vendors packed into the expo venue in downtown Riverbank on Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. each day.

This year the wine tasting will be held at the Masonic Hall on Santa Fe Street, both inside and out for guests’ comfort. Tasting tickets are $20 in advance or $30 at the event.

Admission to the actual Cheese and Wine Exposition is free, and vendors will have a variety of handcrafted items, specialty wares, food, drink and more. The kid’s area includes rides and games and multiple stages will offer music. There will be some road closures during the event; motorists should be ready for detours and possible slight traffic delays in and around the city this weekend.
