The Paint Nite fundraiser for the Annual Veterans Luncheon was held this past Friday, Aug. 24 at the Riverbank Community Center. According to event organizer Diane Talbert, the event was great and well attended. Along with the $15 from each Paint Nite ticket sale, they also hosted a potato bar that had all the fixings that helped raise $545. The family friendly event did not have any alcohol which allowed guests of all ages to attend.

“We were pleasantly surprised,” added Talbert. “There were 39 attendees so we were very pleased. Throughout the event people were laughing and comparing artwork. It was a lot of fun.”

The Annual Veterans Lunch will be held at a new location since the Riverbank Community Center will not be available due to planned renovations. The lunch will be held at the Stanislaus Veterans Center, 3500 Coffee Road in Modesto on Saturday, Nov. 3. The additional funds raised at Paint Nite will help pay for utilizing the new venue. The luncheon is by reservation only and reservations will begin on Sept. 10 and close Oct. 22.
