A participant in a friendly water balloon toss game ‘suffers’ the agony of defeat at Tuesday’s National Night Out event at the Community Center Park in Riverbank on Aug. 1. Participants were encouraged to try their skill with the event, pitted against members of Riverbank Police Services or firefighters from the local station of the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire District. With the triple digit heat, no one seemed to mind ‘losing’ the game and getting splashed with some water.
