Some spots are available on the Board of Directors for Riverbank’s Chamber of Commerce, and chamber officials are hoping local businesspeople step up and fill the posts.

President of the Riverbank Chamber of Commerce, Jerry Van Houten, announced recently that Guy Berkey of Berkey Publishing, will no longer serve on the Board of Directors for the Riverbank Chamber of Commerce and that a search has begun for additional Directors to serve Riverbank’s community interests. Directors are vital to economic development and support.

“We are so thankful for Guy’s service to the Riverbank Chamber,” stated Van Houten. “He’s served our community well and we wish him all the best going forward.”

As the Chamber continues to grow in influence since its reorganization, the need for additional members to represent the business and professional leadership of the community has increased.

“At this time, we’re looking to add a few Directors to our Board at the Chamber,” explained Van Houten. “There’s great opportunity in Riverbank to enhance our sphere of influence and bolster the support of our area businesses. By adding a couple more Directors, we’ll continue moving forward to accomplish that goal.”

The Board of Directors serves as the elected policy body of the Riverbank Chamber of Commerce, approving budgets and directing the general activities of the organization.

Directors have a leadership role in developing the resources of the Chamber by supporting businesses and community events throughout the community.
