Riverbank Christian Food Sharing and 17 other non-profit organizations from Northern California and Nevada were honored at a special awards ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 17 in Walnut Creek by Prudential California Community Foundation. The Foundation is supported by donations from the real estate agents of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Drysdale Properties. The agents donate from transactions they complete.

RCFS was nominated by Steven Langston, an agent in BHHS Drysdale Properties’ Pleasanton office. He is the son of Riverbank Christian Food Sharing volunteer Charlotte Langston.

“RCFS is very proud of being nominated and for being selected to receive a $2,800 monetary grant,” said Food Sharing program spokesperson Lynda Silva. “Families are hungry throughout the year so this comes at a time that we need to restock shelves and freezers after the holidays.”

So far in 2016, Riverbank Christian Food Sharing has provided about 21,100 meals to residents of Riverbank needing help. If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity or have any questions, feel free to call 209-480-6548.

“We truly thank the Prudential Foundation for their donation and support of what RCFS does,” Silva added.
