City Offers Fun Events: Tai Chi, 5k Color Run

Got Color? The 5k Run Walk will be held on April 30 at Jacob Myers Park. The City of Riverbank is hosting the Got Color event in April and has an Early Bird Special until March 30 with a cost of $30 for Adults and for children under 12, a price of $15 which includes a goodie bag, T-shirt and three color packs.

April 1 through the 15 is last registration and adults are $35 and children under 12 are $20. Group rates are also available so register today.

Tai Chi Ch’uan martial art classes will be available on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe St. Session one begins on March 22 and runs through May 10 and the second session is from May 17 through July 29. Adults are only $5 per day.

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art which is a relaxing yet empowering exercise, a dance and moving meditation. Practicing Tai Chi improves memory and concentration, circulation, metabolism and overall strength. It creates a feeling of joy.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing, and flat shoes are recommended. Also bring water. All participants must sign a release of liability prior to the first class.
