The city’s Recreation Department has announced it will again stage a Riverbank’s Got Talent show again next month.
Officials said it’s returning again by popular demand, citing a successful show in February 2018.
The event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, but because work has begun on the remodel project at the Community Center, it will be held in the Community Gymnasium on the Cardozo Middle School campus, just across Santa Fe Street from the center. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m.
The competition will be divided into three groups, with entry fees adjusted accordingly.
Adults and children 12 years of age and over can enter for $5. Seniors 65 and up can enter for $3 while children under 12 can enter for free.
Those interested in participating are asked to register and arrange an audition at the Parks and Recreation office by Thursday, Feb. 7. Call 209-863-7150 or go by the office, at 6707 Third St., Suite C, for more information.
Local talent shows in the past have included Showcase 2007 and 2010, produced by Rio Arts, and Riverbank Idol, held in the Community Center.
The local Idol winner, Christy Riley of Oakdale, went on to compete at a similar contest held at the Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock, which she also won that summer, then at the State Fair in Sacramento.
