City’s Memorial Day Remembrance Slated
Riverbank Memorial Day

The City of Riverbank will host a Memorial Day remembrance on Monday, May 30 at 11:30 a.m. to honor veterans. The remembrance will take place at the Veterans Memorial Wall in front of the Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe St., in Riverbank. The festivities will include a prayer, guest speakers, laying of the wreath at the wall, presentation of the colors, music and light refreshments.

Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday in May to honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States military. In 1971 the day became an official federal holiday.

In commemoration, the City of Riverbank will be presenting a Memorial Day observance honoring all those who served to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice, pay tribute to those living who have served, and to honor those currently serving to protect our nation and our freedom.

As the city continues the Centennial Celebration this year, they invite the community to help honor veterans on Monday, May 30.
