Join the celebration honoring children, books and cultures at the Riverbank Library for Día de los Niños (Day of the Child) this Saturday, April 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Ballet Folklorico dancers will kick off the festivities, followed by a bilingual Story Time, crafts and snacks. Take part in the free book giveaway, provided through the Stanislaus Reads! initiative. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Riverbank Library.

“The Ballet Folklorico dancers are beautiful,” said Vicky Holt, Riverbank Library Branch Supervisor, pleased that the colorful troupe will be part of the celebration.

The Riverbank Library always has plenty for youngsters to do but also is offering some free programs for adults this month, beginning with a Coupon Workshop on Saturday, April 23 at 2 p.m. Dawn Shaeffer and Rita Lopez from the Modesto Money Mavens will give a presentation on couponing and saving money.

The Riverbank Library Book Club will meet on Tuesday, April 26 at 4 p.m. to discuss The Honk and Holler Opening Soon by Billie Letts. Library book clubs provide an opportunity for community members to expand their knowledge of books through meaningful discussion with others. A limited number of the featured books under discussion are available for checkout at the library’s circulation desk.
