Representatives from U.S. Congressman Jeff Denham’s and State Assemblyman Heath Flora’s offices were available for what is referred to as Mobile District Office hours in Riverbank last week.
The monthly program is designed to allow local constituents access to the wheels of government, without having to go to Washington or Sacramento.
Field Representative Eddie Mendoza, from Denham’s 10th California District office in Modesto, hosted a MDO visit on Thursday, Oct. 19, at City Hall in downtown Riverbank. District Director Couper Condit, from Flora’s Modesto office, also participated.
The regular hour long meeting time is scheduled on a monthly basis in many of the local communities in the Congressman’s district, which includes Stanislaus County and a part of Southern San Joaquin County. It overlaps with Flora’s 12th Assembly District, which includes virtually the same communities in both counties.
Ricardo Manago, a native of the Philippines, but a resident here for five years, came to discuss his ideas for conserving water in the district. He suggested developing a system of separating dishwater and bath water from the sewer system, to be treated and returned for irrigation purposes on local crops, landscapes and yards.
