Students at Crossroads Elementary School were surprised recently when a new ‘decoration’ popped up on one of the school fences.

Made out of colored plastic pieces and pushed through the mesh of the school’s fence, a banner of sorts was created along Prospectors Parkway, appearing the middle of last week. The Cougar Pride display was funded by the Rubio family and built by the school’s Parent Teacher Association.

From time to time during the school year, different decorations of all kinds can appear on the fences around the campus.

The PTA is planning a carnival starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 27. Their next meeting is on Tuesday, April 15, at 5:30 p.m.

Although last week was spring break for Riverbank Unified schools, Crossroads is part of the Sylvan School District. That district observes the same schedule as Modesto City Schools, which had its spring break earlier, so the Cougars were back in session last week.
