Dordt College Concert Choir Performs In Ripon

The Dordt College Concert Choir will perform in Ripon on Thursday, March 15.

The Dordt College Concert Choir from Sioux Center, Iowa, will perform a concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, at First Christian Reformed Church, 305 Boesch Dr. in Ripon.

This free concert is part of a spring tour with performances scheduled in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.

Dordt College is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church, which has congregations in Ripon, Modesto, Escalon, Oakdale, Fresno, Merced, and Sacramento (plus Zion United Reformed Church).

Directed by Ryan Smit, the Concert Choir will perform a wide variety of choral music including hymn arrangements, gospel, recently composed works, part songs from the Renaissance and Romantic eras, and Hispanic music from Spain and the Southwestern United States. The concert is free, with a freewill offering received to help defray tour expenses.

Dordt College has approximately 300 U.S. and international students who participate in the music program, with opportunities to perform in four choral groups, two orchestras, and three bands. Music scholarships are available to qualified students.
