Downtown Sonoras Magic Of The Night

Magic of the Night will be held on Friday, Aug. 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the historic streets of downtown Sonora. This event is sponsored by the City of Sonora and the downtown merchants and is open to the public and free of charge.

There will be live music, street dancing, historic building tours, and Farmers Market vendors. Antique and Model A cars on show and cool rides on display by Mother Lode Corvette Car Club. Plus old time games, book signings, jugglers, Celtic Faire Clan and don’t miss the fire show at the end of the evening.

Activities are scheduled at a number of different locations throughout the downtown area including Jackson and Green Street, Coffill Park, Fire Museum, Theall Street and in the Yosemite Title parking lot.

A Family Fun Center will also be set up at the Sonora Opera Hall where there will be popcorn and free Internet games, Captain Encouragement and drum circle musicians.

The music varies from Latin Jazz to Rock a Billy and from Cajun to acoustic.

Bouncy houses, face painting and of course food will be featured and many merchants will be hosting special sales.
