Stanislaus County District Attorney Birgit Fladager and representatives from her office, the Stanislaus County Probation Department and Scott Kuykendall, the Assistant Superintendent of Stanislaus County Office of Education, were scheduled to attend the Tuesday, Oct. 3 meeting of the Riverbank School Board. The meeting was held past press time for The News but information about the presentation was provided.

The county officials were scheduled to highlight the progress and successes of the Focus on Children Under Stress (FOCUS) program in both Riverbank and the county. The program is designed to give notice to a school when a student has been exposed to a traumatic event so that the school can take steps to ameliorate that trauma and ensure the student’s continued success.

The general meeting was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the District Office at 6715 Seventh St., Riverbank. Look for a follow-up story in the Oct. 11 issue of The News.
