Gang Awarenesss Program, Club Giveaway Offered

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office along with Riverbank Police Services (RPS) is inviting the citizens of Riverbank to a Gang Awareness Presentation next week. The topic of identifying and addressing gang problems will be addressed on Wednesday, June 17 at 7 p.m. at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, 2827 Topeka St.

Also, the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force has provided Riverbank Police Services with steering wheel locking devices (commonly known as ‘the Club’) to distribute to owners of the following vehicles: 1990 to 1997 Honda Accord, 1990 to 2000 Honda Civic, 1994 to 1997 Nissan Sentra, 1994 to 1997 Acura Integra, 1989 to 1991 Toyota Camry, 2001 to 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, 1993 to 1995 Saturn SL, 1991 to 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, 1996 to 2005 Nissan Altima, and 2006 Ford F-250’s at no charge. The vehicles listed are the most frequently stolen vehicles in Stanislaus County, according to police officials.

To receive the steering wheel locking device, registered owners must bring in their registration and/or vehicle to Riverbank Police Services, 6727 Third St., Riverbank, to verify they own the vehicle. The locking devices will be given away while supplies last.
