HITCHING A RIDE
hot rod halloween

Spooky things have begun to appear in Riverbank this fall season. A group of area hot rodders regularly meets at the Sno-White Drive-in on Thursdays, getting together to swap stories and enjoy each other’s classic rides. This past week, though, an over-sized black spider hitched a ride to the show. Charlie Bumgarner, of Escalon, had a special passenger on the hood of his restored ‘57 Ford Fairlane. He said his wife, Barbara, decided it was time to start decorating for Halloween. It’s a car the Bumgarners have owned for over 10 years, he said. Charlie noted that he found it sitting in an old barn and decided to bring it back to life. He said he fixed up the car to look just like the one he drove while in high school.
