Members of the Riverbank Federated Women’s Club have begun planning for its Holiday Luncheon this year.

It’s an event that raises money for local charities and scholarships for high school students by having individuals host a table at the event, inviting friends to participate.

In past years, the luncheon has featured ornately, uniquely decorated tables, with a bit of competition between hosts.

The feast will be held on Dec. 11, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe St., across from Cardozo Middle School. Club co-chair Phyllis Reeves said that anyone interested in hosting a table can call her at 869-1194. Other co-chairs include Cindy Ingle, 209-529-6398; and Leanne Jones Cruz, at 209-502-0335.

There will be a short informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4. It will be held at Perko’s Restaurant, 2120 Patterson Road, in Riverbank.
