Local hot rod enthusiasts continued to celebrate the good weather as summer wound to an end over the past weekend.

As an extension of what some would consider ‘Cruising’ Season, a Modesto car club routinely gathers at the Sno-White Drive-in in Riverbank on Thursday evenings into the fall, and will be doing so as long as weather permits. They also can be found in other towns around the county on different nights of the week.

For the club members, it’s an opportunity to gather in a friendly atmosphere, with music, food and camaraderie all on the menu in Riverbank.

They usually bring their vehicles, some cars and some trucks, and display them in the parking lot. Then, they pull up chairs nearby to enjoy the evening air, swap some hot rod stories and offer information to those that are curious enough to stop by for a quick look at the classics on display.
