The Riverbank Junior Bruin Youth Football teams were on the road for the first time in the regular season this past weekend, but will play at home on Saturday, Sept. 23.

On Sept. 16, the teams traveled to Ceres to take on the Jr. Bulldog teams.

Team officials reported their scores.

The Futures, 5- and 6-year-olds, lost 14-7 to the Bulldogs; the Starts, ages 7 and 8, lost 20-7.

The Rookies, 9- and 10-year-olds, lost 16-0, and the JV, 11- and 12-year-olds, lost 38-0.

However, the Jr. Bruin Varsity, featuring 13- and 14-year-olds, clobbered the Jr. Bulldogs with a 50-0 shutout.

The youth football teams return home this Saturday, Sept. 23, to host the Jr. Pride of Turlock.

Game times are 11 a.m. for the Futures, followed by games at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and the varsity rounding out the action with a 6 p.m. kickoff.

They’ll be at home again the next weekend, against the Stockton Jaguars on Sept. 30.
