Law Enforcement, Fire Day

Stanislaus County Leadership Academy meets on Friday, Nov. 4 for their Law Enforcement/Fire Day. Students will tour the downtown jail, Public Safety Center, Stanislaus Fire Training Center and meet with chiefs from Modesto Police, Modesto Fire, Stanislaus County Sheriff and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire. Students will also see demonstrations by Modesto Police K-9 as well as CERT Lockdown and Bomb Demos by Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department. Prior to this day, students rode with both law enforcement and fire to gain an understanding of their careers.

Stanislaus County Leadership Academy students meet one day each month throughout the school year. In a hands-on learning environment, they learn about emerging community issues, are provided an opportunity to expand their knowledge of academics and work ethics, and gain an awareness of local career availability. One of the goals of the program is to raise awareness of careers available locally to students after they graduate from college or trade schools.
