Leadership Academy Hosts Education Day

Stanislaus County Leadership Academy is partnering with Leadership Modesto on Friday, Dec. 8 for Education Day. Students taking part in the countywide program will meet with current Leadership Modesto participants in the morning with a “Getting to Know You” rotation before hearing from Superintendent Tom Changnon on the “Snapshot of Education in Stanislaus County.”

Leadership Academy students will travel alongside Leadership Modesto (LEMO) to Davis High School for an overview of their Career Technical Education programs before visiting the Stanislaus County Office of Education’s Special Education program at John F. Kennedy School. MJC Foundation is hosting lunch at the MJC East Campus followed with a tour of the auditorium and library then traveling to the West Campus where Leadership Academy and LEMO will tour the Science Community Center, Great Valley Museum, Planetarium, Allied Health Facility and the Agriculture Pavilion. The day concludes with a presentation by Assistant Superintendent Scott Kuykendall on SCOE’s Education Options alternative education programs.
