The spring version of the ‘Love Riverbank’ campaign will be on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Love Riverbank is an event that occurs twice a year, which began from the Love our cities movement in Modesto – and since then, has spread to 40 different cities, and growing.
“Our prayer is that Love Riverbank will give the residents of Riverbank a taste of how great it feels to give back to the community,” leaders Mario and Sylvia Jimenez wrote on their website. “We are faith based, with a desire to reach out with the love of Christ in a very practical way.”
This spring work day, with a variety of community projects planned, will be followed up by a second one in the fall, typically late September. The Love Riverbank event brings people out into the community to make a positive impact. Past events have had volunteers participate from young to old, community service clubs, members of a church or those with no church background at all, just people wanting to make a difference in their community.
All who are interested can sign up to participate on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. by visiting the website www.loveriverbank.com. Volunteers are still needed for a few different projects like Beyond Earth Day helpers, Street Clean-up, Floater, and Riverbank Christian Food Sharing. City leaders, Mario and Sylvia Jimenez, can also be reached for questions or ideas for other projects at weloveriverbank@gmail.com.
There will be a rally at 9 a.m. in front of the Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe Avenue in downtown Riverbank before volunteers head out to work at their specific project sites.
