As part of a special program this past week, library patrons were invited to participate in a Painted Valentine Craft where they painted their own Valentine creations. With about 10 kids on the scene there were many colorful Valentines to share with family and friends at this free activity. The craft fun was sponsored by the Friends of the Riverbank Library.

“We had some adorable kids at the Painted Valentine Craft,” said Vicky Holt, Riverbank Librarian. “They really enjoyed painting, and made some colorful Valentines.”

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers, meanwhile, will be on hand at the library every Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to assist the public with free tax preparation. VITA volunteers are trained by the IRS. Please call the library at (209) 869-7008 to reserve a spot, as space is limited. The last day for tax preparation assistance at the Riverbank Library will be April 6.

Later this month, on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. the library will offer an Introduction to Heirloom Gardening. Terry Harper and Heidi Aufdermaur from the Riverbank Heirloom Gardening Group will discuss heirloom gardening and how to save seeds.

The Riverbank Library is located at 3442 Santa Fe St. in Riverbank. For more information, contact the Riverbank Library at (209) 869-7008.
