National Night Out Aims To Strengthen Community
National-Night-Out

National Night Out (NNO) will be celebrated on Tuesday, Aug. 2 and this year Riverbank Police Services along with other agencies will be hosting the celebration at the Community Center Park in downtown Riverbank. The annual event promotes community building between law enforcement and city residents as well as neighborhood togetherness.

In years past, neighborhoods would throw block parties showing their unity and support, with law enforcement and other agencies mobilizing in a caravan that would make a stop at each party. This year the celebration will be held in one spot, centrally located at the park.

In a post on Nextdoor.com and the Riverbank Police Services Facebook page, it is listed that emergency vehicles will be displayed on Seventh Street between Santa Fe Street and Stanislaus Street. The following agencies are scheduled to be on hand for the Night Out festivities: Riverbank Police Services, K9 Team, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Bomb Squat team members, Dive Team, S.T.A.R.S. police volunteers, Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, Probation officers, Oakdale Animal Control, SpecOps, ADT, and SafeKids.

Along with the availability of officials on site to answer questions there will also be booths set up by the participating agencies along with the opportunity to challenge a deputy to a water balloon tossing game. There will also be a chance to win a 26 inch Promax bicycle, donated by the Stanislaus County Sheriff Sergeants Association.
