Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls
Fuel Work
Fire crews are doing some brush clearing work in an effort to cut down on available fuels heading in to the fire season. Modesto Fire Department Photo

 

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverba7 through Monday, May 3. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, MAY 3

All stations performed weekly maintenance checks. Once a week a detailed inspection/cleaning is done on the major components of the apparatus engine, parts, and firefighting inventory.

 

SUNDAY, MAY 2

Companies conducted firefighter probationary training at station 17 and in their own territories.

Crews rotated through an MCI (Mass Casualty Incident) drill which focused on the medical communication coordinator and the medical group supervisor positions.

 

FRIDAY, APRIL 30

Crews continued to work on a fuels management project in Oakdale

 

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28

Captain Assessment Center Testing was completed for the Captain candidates at the RFTC.

Crews conducted training in preparation for the upcoming fire season.

9:07 p.m. – Modesto Fire Department and Stanislaus Consolidated responded to the 4000 block of Roselle Avenue for an overturned vehicle. Crews arrived on scene to find the occupant out of the vehicle uninjured. CHP is investigating.

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 27

Fire Chief Ernst addressed the shift on budget issues.
