The annual Oakdale Rodeo Parade is scheduled on the second Saturday in April each year, just before the formal start of the PRCA/Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo on Saturday afternoon. This year, the parade will be on Saturday, April 8 and entries are now being sought for the event.

The parade takes place in downtown Oakdale, starting at 10 a.m., and is hosted by the Oakdale Saddle Club. Local organizations, schools, businesses, and residents participate in this event and Saddle Club officials said they have made some changes for this year to make it a better experience for all involved.

“The parade is now a California State Horsemen sanctioned event,” said Lisa Vandermeer of the Oakdale Saddle Club. “We will have some very exciting mounted groups and individuals because they are competing for year end points.”

Deadline for entries is fast approaching; deadline is Saturday, March 11 and entry forms can be found on the Oakdale Rodeo website or at the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce.
