The next meeting for the Oakdale Women’s Club is a luncheon gathering set for noon on Tuesday, March 3 at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club, 243 N. Stearns Road, Oakdale.

Guest speaker will be Jackie Hair, President of Oakdale’s Soroptimist International (SIO). The Soroptimists are charter members of the Joint Service Club Task Force of Oakdale (JSCTF), whose membership is comprised of many of Oakdale’s prominent non-profit service organizations, including the Lions Club, Rotary Club and Sunrise Rotary.

Hair will be discussing the Task Force group’s proposal of a digital (electronic) sign to be installed in Wood Park, the purpose of which is to notify the community-at-large of the beneficial fundraisers and special events offered by the 65 non-profit service organizations located throughout the City of Oakdale.

The Oakdale Women’s Club (OWC) is also a non-profit organization and welcomes all members and guests to this event. Attendance at the guest speaker presentation is free; cost for those attending the luncheon, prepared by the golf club’s staff, is $16 per person.

The history of the Women’s Club dates back to the early 1900s and the group welcomes all women in the community to join their organization, whose objectives are to “promote civic improvements, stimulate intellectual growth of its members, and supplement the needs of the community”.

For more information and/or to reserve a spot at the luncheon, call Karen at (209) 848-2231 by Friday, Feb. 28.
