St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oakdale will host the 11th Annual Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be hosted at the Parish Hall, 55 Oak St., Oakdale. Close to 50 vendors are expected with items including quilts, jewelry, toys, leather goods and home décor. Proceeds from the event are used for Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for families in need. For more information call 985-1486.

The Stanislaus River Salmon Festival is set for Saturday, Nov. 12, running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 17968 Covered Bridge Road in Knights Ferry. The free event will feature fly casting, interactive exhibits and California Department of Fish and Wildlife law enforcement officers will be present to answer questions. St. Patrick’s Church, 19399 E. Highway 120 between Escalon and Ripon, is having a Holiday Craft Sale in the Parish Hall. The sale is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 13, 9 a.m. to noon. All proceeds benefit needy families at Christmas. Have fun and get fit. Something for all ages with students young and old, T’ai Chi class with instructor Mary Layton is being offered every Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. There is a small charge, a $5 fee for the class, which is hosted at the Community Center in Riverbank.

Riverbank welcomes the REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, Nov. 16. Modesto Junior College Department of Music will present a Fall String Recital on Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall on the East Campus. The students of Anne Martin, director of orchestra and strings at MJC, will perform solo works by Bach, Dancla, Handel and Roggen. The event is open to the public and admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted.

The Stanislaus Senior Foundation will host its Annual Holiday Fundraiser on Friday, Dec. 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will be held at the historic McHenry Museum, 1402 I St., Modesto. Hors d’oeuvres, wine and a silent auction will be offered for those in attendance. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased on line at www.stanislausseniorfoundation.org or by calling 848-2635.
