Delicato Vineyards is hosting its 29th annual Fine Art Show from Wednesday, Jan. 11 through Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017. Artists who would like to participate in the contest are encouraged to bring their entries to the Delicato Tasting Room through Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017. An application may be obtained by phoning, e-mailing, or visiting the Wine Tasting Room in Manteca. It is also posted on the website: www.dfvtastingroom.com. Up to five pieces of art per artist may be entered ($9 per entry) in the competition. The contest is open to entries by the creators of original art produced within the last three years. The Manteca Tasting Room staff will be accepting entries from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Delicato Vineyards is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is on Highway 99, four miles north of Manteca. The public is encouraged to visit the judged art that will be on display throughout the Tasting Room. All art in this show will be available for sale on a first come first sale basis.

Have fun and get fit. Something for all ages with students young and old, T’ai Chi class with instructor Mary Layton is being offered every Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. There is a small charge, a $5 fee for the class, which is hosted at the Community Center in Riverbank.

The Winter Session of the Riverbank Parks and Recreation Department Hip Hop class is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Jan. 10 and run through Feb. 9, 2017. It will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe St., in downtown. The class is for dancers from 5 to 16 years of age. Riverbank welcomes the REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 11. The next Accordion Music and Social gathering of the Good Time Accordion Club is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Escalon Community Center. The center is at 1055 Escalon Ave., Escalon, and there is a $5 admission fee at the door. All accordion fans and performers of all skills levels are welcome. The 2017 Healthy Air Living Kids’ Calendar is now available and features artwork from 15 talented Central Valley students. This bilingual, full-color wall calendar can be obtained by visiting the Modesto office of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. The annual educational calendar showcases original works of art chosen from hundreds of entries by children in each of the eight counties that make up the Valley Air District. The 2017 calendars can be reserved, while supplies last, by emailing public.education@valleyair.org, and can be picked up in the District office in Modesto at 4800 Enterprise Way.

Modesto on Ice has returned for its second season to Downtown Modesto, running now until Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017. This family-friendly ice rink offers public sessions, as well as figure skating and hockey lessons. Modesto on Ice also hosts private events. The ice rink is located at 1131 11th Street in downtown Modesto (corner of 11th and K streets). For operating hours, visit www.modestoonice.com. Every Tuesday, Modesto on Ice skate sessions will be discounted to $8 until 5:30 p.m.
