Riverbank offers T’ai Chi classes on Monday nights at the Teen Center and Wednesday nights at the Community Center, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., for $5 per person each night. Stop by either evening and check out this fun, relaxing way to get fit.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Oakdale and Riverbank invites team captains to the team captain meeting on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 6:45 p.m., at Oak Valley Medical Plaza, 1425 W. H St., Oakdale. The monthly meeting provides event updates and allows team captains to interact with the event leadership team, share their fundraising progress and successes, ask questions, learn how the community benefits from funds raised, and learn how cancer survivors and caregivers will be honored. The Oakdale and Riverbank Relay will be hosted at Oakdale High School on Saturday, May 6.

On Saturday, Feb. 18 an Acoustic Guitar Workshop will be hosted from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Venue at Big Valley Grace Community Church, 4040 Tully Road, Modesto. Join Associate Pastor of Worship, Tim Miller, as he walks through the basics of playing the acoustic guitar in a worship context. Acoustic guitar players of all ages and skill levels will pick up some useful tips and secrets in this workshop. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Riverbank welcomes the REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 22. Get your tickets early for the upcoming Film ‘Fun’ Raiser for DKG Epsilon Nu Chapter. The event is scheduled for April 27 at the State Theatre, 1307 J St., downtown Modesto. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. on film day for wine, appetizers and raffle drawings. The movie ‘Some Like It Hot’ will be shown starting at 7 p.m. The donation of $25 benefits MJC scholarships, Great Valley Museum, Library Book purchases and the Stanislaus County Office of Education.
