Riverbank Library events will continue in December with a Pom Pom Snowman craft day, which will be held at the Riverbank Library, 3442 Santa Fe, on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m. Participants will make snowmen out of homemade pompoms. All are invited to this free craft day.

A new dancing venue is now in effect at the Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe Ave., cross of Santa Fe and Sixth streets in Riverbank. The venue is open for dancing every second and fourth Friday night from 7 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., with the next gathering this Friday, Dec. 11. A selection of 2,000 greatest hits, including country two-step, waltz, swing, fox trot, cha-cha, rock, line-dancing and Latin music will be offered. Voices for the King, a male chorus, will present their sixth annual Christmas concert Saturday, Dec. 12, 7 p.m., at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 517 Orange Ave., Ripon. There will be a variety of Christmas-themed music, and the audience will participate in singing Christmas carols. A free will offering will be received, of which the net proceeds will be given to the Modesto Pregnancy Center. Refreshments will be served immediately following the concert in the Ministry Center. Come for a wonderful evening of listening, singing, and praise.

Riverbank welcomes the REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group, and breakfast is available for first time guests. Holiday hours at the end of the year will find the Riverbank Historical Museum open on both Tuesdays, of Christmas week (Dec. 22) and New Year’s (Dec. 29) week, from 10 a.m. to noon, its regular hours of operation. Both Thursdays those weeks, Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, the museum will be closed. It will remain closed those Saturdays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, as well. In addition, there be will no Memories Day scheduled in December. It will resume on the second Tuesday of January, at 11 a.m. at the museum.

The SPCA of Stanislaus County is seeking volunteers for its Pet Outreach Program. Volunteers and their pets visit local convalescent and care facilities in Modesto and the surrounding area. For further information, email marydavis45@sbcglobal.net.

Candlelight tours of the McHenry Mansion, 15th and I streets in Modesto, will be available on Friday, Dec. 18 and Sunday, Dec. 20. Tours begin at 5 p.m. and the last tour leaves at 8:30 p.m. During the tours, visitors will see docents dressed in period clothing demonstrating Victorian life as it was during the holidays. All are encouraged to stop by and take in this holiday tradition.
