Pair Of Arrests Made
COP1

An arrest was made on Saturday, April 22 after deputies responded to a suspicious person call in the 2300 block of McAllister Lane where an adult male on a bike had approached the front door of a vacant home. Once RPS Deputies were on the scene they did an area check and observed that the side yard gate was open. They contacted a man later identified as Jose Valdez, 35, from Modesto who was inside a shed in the back yard. Authorities said he attempted to discard a small plastic bag that was found to be methamphetamine. However, Deputy Victorino saw the man’s attempt to get rid of the bag. Valdez was subsequently arrested and booked for possession of methamphetamine.

On Friday, April 21 deputies responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery at Target where a suspect identified as Keenon Tavares, 22, from Modesto had taken items without paying. He was confronted by security and attempted to flee from them. He then threatened security by telling them a friend of his was coming with a gun. When that didn’t work he bit one of the security guards. Deputies arrested Tavares and booked him for robbery.
