Parks And Recreation Plans Summer Fun

The City of Riverbank’s Parks and Recreation Department offers families a variety of activities throughout the summer with recreational swim at the Riverbank Community pool, sports, and camps.

This week Challenger Sports British Soccer camp began and will continue through Friday at the Riverbank Sports Complex on Morrill Road. Coaches will be on hand to teach kids between the ages of 3 and 5 their soccer basics and youth between the ages of 5 and 14 will experience a half day of camp learning key techniques and skills.

Next week beginning on Monday, June 12 the popular Hip Hop Camp returns for ages 6 to 12 for boys and girls that want to learn new moves. This class will be held at the Cardozo Gym, 3625 Santa Fe in Riverbank from 9 a.m. until noon.

Outdoor Adventure Camp this year will include a visit from Dinosaur Rock. This educational program will bring the museum to the youth with a hands-on learning experience. The camp will be offered from June 26 to 30 at Jacob Myers Park in the Burney Pavilion from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., designed for kids ages 6 to 12.

Cheerleading Camp will be offered from July 5 to 7 at the Cardozo Gym from 9 a.m. until noon for boys and girls ages 6 to 12.

On July 10 through the 14 Summer Fun and Science Camp will be held at the Riverbank Teen Center from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. where youngsters will learn water safety, experiments and much more.

Basketball camp will begin on July 17 and run through July 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cardozo Gym for youth ages 6 to 14. Participants will learn how to dribble, pass, shoot, and much more. Camp shirts are provided with early registration.

The Riverbank Community pool is also now open for recreational swim Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. There is a $2 fee per person or interested parties can purchase a swim pass, with both individual and family passes available.
